This work represents my first step in a body of modular work that I have been developing ever since.  At the time I was a resident artist at Sloss Metal Arts, where I was interested in creating work that is uniquely suited to the medium of casting.  The duplication of the triangular form, and the compound curvatures of its surface, were my answer to this question in 2001.  Since then, I have developed this modular series in various directions from the starting point that was Ovum.
