June 12, 2021 • Public Iron Pour

Iron Light is WNCSC's annual iron casting group artist residency and community iron pour. The public will have the unique opportunity to witness the process of casting iron in person! Attendees will have the opportunity to create a custom iron tile mold and watch it be poured before your eyes and be yours to keep.

Other sculpture process demonstrations will be happening on site.
Live music and food trucks will accommodate the event as well.
Fun for the entire family.

Do not miss the chance to see roughly 2700 degree F molten iron!!

Sculpture Forum Artist Presentation

WNC Sculpture is pleased to kick off our artist talk series by presenting NC based, internationally renowned sculptor Patrick Dougherty, Waynesville, NC resident  and accomplished blacksmith Rachel David and rapidly emerging sculptor and WNCSC sculptor in residence  Daniel Shieh. These three distinct artists will offer insights into their studio practice and meaning behind their work. This is a celebration of new works executed and installed at the sculpture park. We will also be celebrating work by the recognized late sculptor Wayne Trapp. This series acts as our rolling fundraiser and will include live music and beverages. This event is free to attend. Those who can not make the fund raiser but would like to support WNCSC may do so by clicking here for a secure online payment.

Thank you for any support you might be able to give and we hope to see you on the 24th.
