Complacency As Commodity

Fabricated Steel, Cast Aluminum, Wood, Mixed

Dimensions Variable

2012

The phenomenon which is taken for granted of male children playing with toys that reference violence is a seemingly mundane social inoculation effecting conditioning. This early exposure to ideas where war is play leads to a desensitization to military activity, notions of nationalism and an us verses them mentality. The resulting response to this notion is Complacency As Commodity. A sugar coated missile form behind an arcade style interface inferring controlling a firing mechanism aimed at a child's play structure.
